Beyond One Thing.

The Fatewell Project is a space for music, video, film, visual art, ideas, expression — or maybe something I haven't even thought of yet.

I like the freedom of not knowing exactly what it has to become.

Be good.
Do good.

That's Fatewell. The rest is still being discovered.

The Project

Ideas first.
Categories second.

While You're Not So Human is a synth-pop release, Fatewell isn't confined to a single genre—or even a single medium.

The Fatewell Project is a space for creative expression, driven by curiosity and a genuine love of art rather than commercial ambition. Nothing is for sale; the project exists purely for the joy of creating and sharing.

In keeping with that spirit, Fatewell lives exclusively on YouTube, where music and video come together in their most natural form. Rather than spreading across multiple social media platforms, the idea is to devote more time and energy to creating, exploring ideas, and sharing them in one place..

Behind Fatewell is someone who's always been fascinated by science, invention, and turning ideas into reality. Growing up, I wanted to be a scientist and inventor—not just to discover how things work, but to find ways to help people through new ideas and inventions. I've also always had more ideas than I knew what to do with—which is both a blessing and, occasionally, a logistical problem.

Creating music, to me, is a lot like inventing. I'd rather say I invented a song than simply wrote one. It begins with an idea, followed by experimentation, unexpected discoveries, and the excitement of seeing what takes shape. Some ideas become songs; others might become films, visual art, computer programs, or something that doesn't have a name yet. Inspiration can come from a story, an image, a sound, a question, or simply the curiosity to discover what happens when you try something new.

Not everything needs to fit neatly into a box. Especially when you're still figuring out what the box is for.

Whatever form it takes, one principle remains at the core of Fatewell: Be good. Do good.

Introducing the Fatewell Project

If I had only one wish, I would wish that humans could live on nothing but air and sunlight. No farms. No factories. No killing animals or things with eyes for food. No worrying about what to eat tomorrow. Just breathe, stand in the sunlight, and somehow… we're good. Probably not the most realistic wish, but I like the idea of a world where humans could live without taking so much from everything around us.

That curiosity is part of what led to the Fatewell Project, an evolving creative project exploring music, film, technology, consciousness, and the contradictions that make us human.

At the heart of Fatewell is a simple philosophy: be good and do good..

02 / Music & Video

You're Not So Human.

The song explores the tension between technology and humanity. The song and video takes that idea somewhere more visual, bringing together machines, destruction, performance, and a few questions that don't have easy answers while being able to sing and dance at the same time.

An exploration of AI, technology, and what makes us human.

The Story Behind the Song

We live in a world where computers can analyze vast amounts of information, recognize patterns, generate ideas, and help solve problems that once seemed impossible. They can process information, perform complex calculations, organize data, and accomplish countless tasks faster and more accurately than we can. They can also make me question every life decision that led me to sit in front of one.

"You're Not So Human" came out of my complicated love-hate relationship with technology.

Sometimes, technology can seem almost more than human. Well, "... not so human".

But there is one thing technology still does not truly have: feelings.

Codes don't feel. And that is where "You're Not So Human" becomes less about technology and more about us.

It is not an anti-technology song. Quite the opposite. I love technology. I love computers, ideas, and the possibilities they open up for creating music and videos.

There’s a certain irony in making something about AI without asking AI to make it for me. I couldn’t help but find that amusing.

The Meaning Behind "You're Not So Human"

The title itself has several possible meanings, and I like that ambiguity.

It can sound like an accusation: someone is cruel, detached, or somehow less human than they should be. But it can also sound like a compliment: someone is so extraordinary that they seem almost beyond human.

Technology can sometimes feel that way. Digital personalities and systems can be remarkably capable, faster, more accurate, more patient, and sometimes even more comforting than a human companion.

But then the title turns around. That brings us to a bigger question: what does it actually mean to be conscious, to feel something, or to experience?

A machine can know what pain is. It can describe pain. It can write a beautiful song about pain. But does it actually feel pain?

That is where the title becomes a mirror. Maybe "You're Not So Human" is not only about the machine. Maybe it is also asking us what we are going to do with the fact that we are.

Technology and Responsibility

Humans can choose to do good. Machines can help us, but they still need humans to decide what "good" actually means. And if we can't agree on that, we're not exactly making life easy for the machines.

Technology can help us understand each other, solve problems, create something beautiful, or make someone's day a little better. It can even help us do good deeds. Though hopefully, we won't need an app to remind us to be decent to each other.

A hammer can build a house or break a window. What matters is who's holding it.

The tools we create can do extraordinary things, but their impact depends on how they are used. Understanding others, showing compassion, and taking responsibility for our actions may not be the most technologically advanced skills, but they're still among the most important.

General Q&A

A closer look at the ideas and creative decisions behind "You're Not So Human."

But first, three quick Human intelligence warm up Brain Teasers!
Question 1: You're running a race. You overtake the person in second place. What place are you in?

Answer: Second place. You took the second-place runner's position; you haven't passed the person in first.

Question 2: What comes next: 2, 6, 12, 20, 30, ?

Answer: 42. The differences are 4, 6, 8, and 10; the next difference is 12..

Question 3: A bat and a ball cost $1.10 in total. The bat costs $1 more than the ball. How much does the ball cost?

Answer: 5 cents. The bat costs $1.05, and the ball costs $0.05. Together, they cost $1.10.

Now that we're warmed up, let's start.

Who were the main contributors?

Craigycraig and his computer were the main contributors. We've been together for a long time, so I suppose you could call it a committed relationship.

I handled the creative work, while the computer was my technical partner, helping bring the project to life.

Did you use AI to create the song or video?

No. The song and video were created without AI for the music, vocals, writing, or visual production.

I wanted to make something about AI without AI making it for me. It seemed only fair to give myself a chance.

What inspired the release?

My entangled love-hate relationship with my computer was a major inspiration. Sometimes I love it, sometimes it gives me mixed signals and other times it drives me completely crazy. Well, it's complicated.

What makes the release distinctive?

The song explores AI while keeping the focus on human experience. Machines can produce extraordinary results, but intelligence isn't necessarily consciousness, and knowing the rules isn't the same as having a conscience.

The deeper I went into the subject, the more the questions turned back on us. It's a song about AI that ultimately puts humanity under the microscope.

Where was the music recorded?

The music and vocals were recorded at home. The video was filmed separately in a challenging location with security monitoring and limited time to capture the shots.

What was unique about the creative process?

Much of the process involved chasing the right sound and feeling, questioning decisions, and sometimes starting over.

Creating something can mean making it, destroying it, questioning everything, and creating it again until it is finally time to stop touching it.

What is the central idea behind the project?

Fatewell is a creative project by Craigycraig exploring music, video, film, visual art, ideas, and expression. Rather than being tied to a single genre or medium, the project follows ideas wherever they lead.

Its featured release, "You're Not So Human," examines the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence, consciousness, and our understanding of what makes us human.

The song considers a world in which machines can perform extraordinary tasks while raising questions about emotion, experience, compassion, and responsibility.

At its core, the project is guided by the philosophy of morality.
